Troubles
During August we took a trip to Donal’s home town of Belfast, and happened upon the 'Silent Testimony' exhibition by Colin Davidson in the Ulster Museum. Struck by the weight of suffering etched into each of the 18 portraits, and moved by the history of violence in the city, we wrote Troubles as a way to express how we felt about the conflict in Northern Ireland.
The chorus draws upon Colin’s own words, taken from his introduction to the exhibition: “But time doesn’t always heal.”, a phrase we find both immensely sad and ultimately true. We are indebted to him for inspiring us with art of such quality, and would like to dedicate this song both to him and to all victims of the conflict.
You can find the song here on our website, and on Spotify and iTunes.
